Hi all,

Ok, I think I've found a nice venue for our second meet where we could make almost a day out of it with picnic and everything: Tree Haven It's about 45 minutes from Sandton, hope the distance is no too far for most?

I've got two possible dates: 15 or 22 May 2010. Let's vote and fix a day later this week so that we all can schedule for the day.

It is far away... , but I have a few 4x4 events, hiking and of course my Kgalagadi trip  happening in the next couple of weekends, so I won't be able to make it before then.

So, fixed for the 29'th then?

It's a little far away to know exactly which day I could come. However, about a month before I should know.

Are you all still ready for the 29'th??

There is a coffee shop and for photographers, it's R50 for half a day and R100 for a full day. I guess it will not be possible to be there very early to get the best light for our photos, but there's something else i want to discuss and touch on... :hmz:

So, who's comming?

The 29th May is great for me, SB! What is the R50/R100 for, btw?

I think R22 for adults at WSBG, Switchback.

Oh, so if you pay R50 per head (I suppose children are cheaper?) you can stay half a day, while R100 per head gets you a full day?

Yip, that is according to their website, see link in my first post.

Some more info:

"Where are we?
Situated 3km (just under 2 miles) from Vereeniging, Gauteng, South Africa, and only a 45 minute drive from Sandton, Johannesburg, Treehaven Waterfowl Trust is an oasis comprising just over 12 hectares (30 acres) of specially developed wetlands dedicated to the world’s waterfowl.

What can you see?
All 16 species of South African ducks
116 species of exotic ducks, geese and swans
Over 65 species of wild water birds that visit Treehaven regularly
4 Species of Flamingos
All 3 South African crane species, which form part of a captive breeding program, for release into the wild
Beautiful gardens and cascading water.

The Nest Coffee Shop
Relax and indulge in some light refreshments while enjoying the view. The coffee shop is open Thursday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm and entrance is free. Functions and meetings can be arranged throughout the week.

Photographers
Half day - R50 per person / Full day - R100 per person"
