FORUM NAMES

Unread postby Ladyhawke » Thu Feb 11, 2010 3:44 pm

Hi all, just as a matter of interest, how did you come up with your forum names? What made you choose the specific names that you are using?
Let's hear the stories......I think it would make funand interseting reading. :P :hmz:

I had chosen BUSHLADY as my forum name, as I really love to be in the bush, and being the only woman on all our holidays (I have 3 boys) , I thought BUSHLADY was appropriate,,,,only later another forum member also chose BUSH-LADY so I changed to LADYHAWKE.

Bushmom seemed an obvious choice to me as I have two "Bushbabies" on the forum, although they are not active posters! I must state that even though there is a "Bushdad" on the forum too, he is not related to us in any way!

I was in such a hurry to join that I scarcely thought of an appropriate name for me - I could have come up with everything from the sublime (superbushie) to the ridiculous (antman), but the first thing that sprung into my mind was onewithnature. It just seemed to reach out and pull me into itself; I could not resist: next instant, I had registered it. Then, I was surprised when someone called me OWN. My choice suddenly seemed most appropriate - and definitely not randomly give to me - as I always believe in owning my image, my responsibility, and my conduct.

Aussie battler
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The term Aussie Battler is an Australian colloquialism referring to "ordinary" or working class individuals who persevere through their commitments despite adversity[1]. Typically, this adversity comprises the challenges of low pay, family commitments, environmental hardships and lack of personal recognition. It is a term of respect and endearment intended to empower and recognise those who feel as though they exist at the bottom of society.
The term has seen recent use in mainstream politics to describe a demographic section of the Australian people.

Nice alias, Butterfly Elizabeth! I remember listening to a song in the 70s with which I fell totally in love with - can't remember who sang it though :? : it was called Papillon, which I believe is the French version of a butterfly?
