Thought I would share my Puff Adder pic's!

These were taken in Nossob in the KTP, they were being rounded up by the officials... no less than 7 were caught that day alone in the camp.

This Monster was just about 1KM south of Nossob... its by far the largest one I have seen.

These two were taken in the KNP same day...

Xenokal that Puff Adder on the tar is beautiful.

I know two guys that got bitten by puff adders, and both got off lightly.
Both were fellow students at the time. One was holding the puffie during a practical excursion and forgot he had it in his hand  ...and got a thumb bite for punishment. The other had spent to much time in the pub and got too close to one of the regular puffies lying on the tar at night, got a bite through the shoe, (after annoying it) . Both guys survived without too much damage.

thanks Jumbo, that's what Jannie in the meantime has guessed as well...I was expecting some biting as well but he explained that these guys are immune against their own venom

In my trip report I tentatively identified this snake as a Puffadder. Am I correct?

We came across this Puffie in KNP in Feb this year and it was acting quite strangely, not sure if a car had hit it or what as it didn't seem to have any obvious damage but it was writhing about and at one point even rolled over onto its back and then over again and it had its mouth open a lot of the time as well.
