Your Opinion

Unread postby Dawid2005 » Thu Dec 05, 2013 7:53 am

Hi All

I have a general question, I am still relatively new in photography and was just wondering about this. I am looking at getting a longer lens for myself mostly for wildlife and I am also not really in the mood to change lenses for the time when I want to take pics of the family so I am considering getting another body as well. I do not want to go into the discussion of what makes to get as I already sort have my mind made up on this.

So here is the question the what in your opinion will be the best:
1. Getting a new lens and buying second hand body or
2. Getting a new body and then buying second hand lens.

Your opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Agree with Lion Queen. Go with option 1.

Why don't you also look for a second hand lens and body?

In terms of what lens, the 70-300 range of lenses seems best bang for your buck (sorry, couldn't help myself  ). Something to consider is also that you can rent lenses. For my KNP excursions, I rent a Nikon 200-400 f/4 VR lens. It costs me about R3k for 9 days. I would not be able to afford such a lens, but renting makes it possible to use pro lenses at affordable rates.
Why do time fly when you are having fun?

KNP - May'14 done and dusted

KNP - 14 Aug'15 to 21 Aug'15
