Though I am vehemently opposed to glitzy accomodation , hotels , comercialisation , airconditioners , electric lighting , advertising banners and take aways & draught beer taps at picnic sites , tar roads , additional taxation of visitors , border access to neighbouring countries , OSV's , high visitor numbers etc which seem to have been the cause of a lot of the bad feelings , I still find it most fulfilling to contribute .

Ndloti, agreeing to almost everyone you say, but don't you think doing away with draught beer taps at picnic sites are pushing things a bit?

I must confess , this is exactly how I have also felt for some time now .
You know , last year in March , I joined a forum , this forum ,and it was vibrant , exciting , focussed , compulsive .
I saw threads being posted that made we want to join in , give my opinion . I saw posts that made we want cry , and I saw posts that had me rolling around laughing .
Some posts made me absolutely green with envy , and I was wowed by TR’s where I could share the magic with fellow forumites .
I was proud to say : I am a member of the Sanparks forum .
But somehow , I also saw a change taking place – a negativity , and I wondered .
I read about complaints - complaints about service , complaints about poor conditions in the park , about petty matters, and even with people making threats to boycott the park , etc. etc .
And somehow , there was a perception that suddenly there were two sides – Us , and them .
Us – we are the paying public , and we have certain rights , a right to demand , a right to know , a right to prescribe .
And then there was the other side - them /they .
They who do not listen , who are supposed to give the service , who must tell us what is going on , and ,and they are failing in their duties , and their responsibilities , and they are going to ruin everything for us .
And I wondered . And I thought to myself – is it really worth it ? Do I wish to waste my time reading all this nonsense ?
I saw a forum being torn apart by negativity , by misgivings , by mistrust , uncertainty , and even despair .
And a few members and moderators trying to keep it alive , asking questions – what has gone wrong ? And , a very pertinent question – what have we lost ? Looking for answers .
And here , wonder of wonders , a post that says it all – This is the forum !
This is what it is all about . Not the infighting , the personal issues , the single person , the inner ego , or the alter ego .
The forum –the place for discussion . That is what a forum is . Nothing more , nothing less .
But is that what this is ? Just a place for discussion ?
No , Bennievis have told us what this is . It is not just a place , but it is people . People with ideas , with thoughts , with emotions , with passions . Passions and emotions that encompass the same thoughts , the same ideas from all over . Thoughts and ideas and feelings for the same things , that can be shared , and that can be appreciated . And there is no such thing as us and them – because we are all one .

Bravo Bennievis , and bravo to all of you who want to start a new beginning
