Sorry mods, I do find this hilarious,

8 Posts. one starting the thread, two "assistant mods, and 5 from mods.

No offence, it is just very good.

Yip, in the spirit that the topic was started; one of friendly and hopefully constructive information and discussion. Very different when it is not a friendly topic.

We do not always agree and as a result have very lengthy discussions until we come to some sort of agreement. Although the rules of the forums are a good guide and make most decisions black or white.

Do you vote then and majority "wins"?
If time allows we bash it out until the entire group agree. Sometimes if just one opposes something we do not do it. On major decisions we only go ahead when the entire team agrees.

I don't think you are the only mod's SO that feels like that :D

Those of us in SA also call each other when there is something urgent to alert the other to an issue.

We have also all sms'd, or called Nedret at some very odd hours over weekends, holidays and during the night.

Thank you Moderators. I was just curious as to how things are working behind the scenes.

May I please ask a question as well? :hmz:
If the mods feel it is off-topic please remove.

Do the mods get ANY "perks" in their capacity as mods? I'm thinking about discounts on bookings, etc.

The reason for my question is that I can't see why mods stay mods with all the hammering they are getting sometimes if there are no incentives! :hmz:

If they do TheunsH, will it be wrong considering how much of their private time they spend on moderating the forum? :?
I have issues with how certain mods deal with certain things….but I will not have and issue if they get compensated in one way or another for their work on this forum….fair is fair….and rather them than I

I was just a bit curious about incentives, etc. As I have said, the mods are almost always around and I can't see how anybody will do it all for free! To be totally honest, I think that mods should receive benefits, etc!

Maybe this got nothing to do with me and if I have offended anybody with my question, sorry about it.

Hi TheunsH,

Yes, they get a free Wild Card.

No other perks. This is purely a volunteer arrangement. That's why we are grateful to the Mods for everything that they do for SANParks.

Thank you for the reply Nedret.

I think the mods should get more than just a Wild Card though and I'm not sarcastic..I'm dead serious!

I am happy to hear that at least they get something, certainly a few stays for free would not ruin Sanparks, but knowing their ( Sanparks')"generosity".............
