Honestly, folks. :wall:

I thought this had the potential of being an interesting debate about language use on a public international site. I was wrong.

I couldn't care less if adults swear on here. I find more aggravation on here from topics plaguing the Rainbow Nation other than language use. For me its a non-issue.

But frankly, if you think you're being persecuted because you disagree with the TOS, then 1) use your education and volunteer to float a proposal to flesh out the TOS, or 2) exercise your right to take your forum-posting hobby elsewhere.

The mods seem like they're taking a rational tone re: post editing process. Meet half-way. The passive-aggressive posts in this thread are tiring. IMO.

If the rules were governed equally to all the members of the forum, we would never be having this conversation. There is & has been more serious rule breaking than this, by both young & older members.
Rule #8 especially
Quote:
8. We are striving to create a friendly forum that is open to people of all ages and convictions. Keep the tone of your message or personal message (PM) civil. Personal attacks, cursing, abrasive, rude or vulgar language, pornography, adult jokes, hate speech, racism, sexism, insulting or generalizing about other cultures, provoking mudslinging, religious or political exchange, scolding, bullying, berating, making fun of, or otherwise harassing of other members online will not be tolerated! In addition, if you have nothing good to say, don't say it!

So fairness to all rule breakers, should make a happier forum family again, and allow the Mods to be members instead of them & us. :rtm: :rtm: = :D

Well Billy, the park was overrun by a bunch of "donkeys" in fast cars.

@ Scips. Please do not encourage people to start using the word donkey. If someone starts making the donkey noise, then there will be bigger concerns to deal with

Wow, what a horrible way to start this new year!!! :(

Firstly, I’m completely for the control of the language used on the forum and are appreciative of the mods enforcing the relevant rules....I have seen forums where the language use is so vulgar, you really just don’t feel like reading it.

Having said this...I honestly see no wrong in the word “ass”...but that is my personal opinion. :? If the mods decide that this word is not suitable to be used on the forum, so be it, and we have to accept it. However, I believe they should be consistent in the enforcement of this....a quick search of the forum showed that this word have been used several times without any actions from the mods...I also believe that the abbreviations LMAO and LMGA should also be looked at and edit out..everybody knows what they mean and this has even been used by people like Wanda

Thanks Jumbo, this is my point exactly. Some of the mods are like rugby refs, very inconsistant!

Seems like certain mods have got it in for my ass, but no balls to contact me directly. (is balls suitable?)

Come on mites ..I think this thread has very little to do with Sanparks and Lets get on with the purpose of this forum . Advise on Sanparks , enjoyment of sanparks stuff and the sharing of advise, enjoyment of sightings etc etc etc ..How about some more of those beautiful photographs for us all to enjoy .. those fantastic moments shared .. and so on

WOW!! Have learn't more about personalities and underlying issues in the last 15 minutes than I have in a month :D
How about putting a PG rated triangle in the emoticon section? This can be attached to a posting warning people that some of the content might be :naughty: ?  and then if a word like "donkey" offends you, it's simple, just don't read the post
