Gazebo

Unread postby moobox » Sun Dec 01, 2013 5:26 pm

So, I'm going to be spending some time in a safari tent at Skukuza in December. And I dont know what the shade situation is like. Would it be advisable to get a gazebo type of thing to park the car underneath? Will it still be there when I return to camp from a drive?

Thanks and cheers - Ed

Ed, from what I remember, and I have not stayed in the Safari tents, there is plenty of shade around. Especially if you get one nearer 'the bottom'. I do not think you need to take a gazebo to park your car under.

If you do decide to take one, I am sure it will be there when you get back from drives, (if you peg it down and it cannot blow away) as we leave our camp sites and never have anything missing after a drive.

Plenty of shade there, moobox, so you probably won't need a gazebo for the car. If you do use one though, just hope that a storm doesn't wander through the camp and completely destroy your gazebo as it did to ours a few weeks ago. My fault. Should've taken it down when the wind came up.

Apparently they aren't designed to be able to support 400 tons of water in 5 minutes. Who knew ...

OK thanks everyone. I shant be buying the gazebo then. Was just thinking that the sun could get a bit heavy on the car. In fact it's my son's car. So he'll be happy to hear this.

Cheers - Ed
