Hello all.

SO and I will be coming back to Kruger on 12th October this year (2010).

I have read somewhere in a post on the forum that "shock/horror", School Holidays occur around this time

Could someone let us have the exact dates for these please. ( We dont know as we are in the UK)

The school holidays are as follows they open on the 15th of July and close on the 20th september and then re-open the 1st of October these dates are both for all inland and coastal provinces

GROUP 1: INLAND PROVINCES:
FREE STATE, GAUTENG, LIMPOPO, MPUMALANGA AND NORTH WEST

TERM 1) 9 Jan – 20 March
TERM 2) 9 April – 21 June
TERM 3) 15 July – 20 Sept
TERM 4) 1 Oct – 04 Dec

GROUP 2: COASTAL PROVINCES:
EASTERN CAPE, KWAZULU-NATAL, NOTHERN CAPE AND WESTERN CAPE

TERM 1) 16 Jan – 28 March
TERM 2) 8 April – 21 June
TERM 3) 15 July – 20 Sept
TERM 4) 1 Oct – 04 Dec

As you can see from Lion Queen's posting that you should escape the holidays. My October trips have always been pretty quiet. Be warned, it can be very hot.

Yeap, we appear to miss the little darlings being out and about (lol)

Brings back memories of driving from KNP to J'burg Airport one Easter a few years ago.

Do not want to replicate that experience anytime soon

Absolutely, Mike. The Kruger trip I did one Easter weekend was enough to prevent me going back there over this period again. And that was close to twenty years ago - now it is even more congested. Glad your trip will escape school holidays.

BTW, you mean your current trip is 2013, not 2010, eh?
