Hi,
First post - here goes.
My wife and I will be self-driving a Nissan Trax for the month of April.
We start at Golden Gate N.P. and then Royal Natal.
Work our way to Kruger N.P. for the last week.
We can't wait to get away from our world (very snowy here in central Canada) and immerse ourselves in all things SA (and Lesotho and Swazi) for a month.
But perhaps once or twice a week I will need to connect with my student interns via email.
I'm wondering if there will be WiFi spots in any of the N.P. campsites that I can tap into for a bit of work? Thanks in advance - great forum!
MZ

Hi and welcome MZ :D

Best to buy a SA data sim card when you land at the airport and use that to connect to 3G. That way you should have some sort of connection, although not always 3G, but a very much wider range of 'area' to connect.

Thanks, Dinkybird. I should have stated that I don't travel with a smartphone. What I plan to use is an Ipod Touch for working with email. That's why I need WiFi. MZ

Ohhhhh ... I am not the most technically informed person MZ. So going to try and get you some further help here. Wifi (to my limited knowledge) is only available in shopping malls, airports and so on.

Have a browse through this topic too

Hi Mzetek

I cannot comment on the Golden Gate but in Kruger Park there are internet Cafe's with Wifi in the major camps.
I know for sure that Lower Sabie and Skukuza does have.

The smaller camps do not have.

Between the city usually places like McDonnalds and Wimpy (fast food outlet) has Wifi.

Other than that your best bet will be to rent a 3G modem at the airport and that gives mostly national coverage.

Hope that helps..
