Hallo - i walk on Glencairn beach in Simon's Town, and today saw four dead seals washed up on the beach. This seems strange.. Is there a unit that keeps track of these things?

Hi Karien1972,

If you don't get an answer from any one here, maybe ask on the Sanparks Table Mountain Facebook Page

I do hope you get some info soon..........poor seals..... :(

It does not seem to be a major disaster and they have probably died from attacks by sharks or other predators. If the deaths continue, then it may be something different, like pollution. I think the authorities will only react in case of massive die offs. Since nothing was further reported, one can safely assume that the deaths were natural.
