WOW that is sooo impressive .. those lucky children
Could these children use old Go and Getaway magazines I have a rather a lot and the pile is growing everymonth They are too good to just recycle They could cut them up for school projects too

Just a few photos as an update for you all... I visited the school a couple of times while I was up there and I must say its looking good





And the older children enjoying reading their new books ! They were SO happy to get some new reading material - please keep them coming, it means so much to them...

Also met up with Petra and Scipio as well as Rose and Gareth on my last morning in KTP - what great timing! They brought lots of goodies for the school too - thank you SO much guys!! Another computer and a brand new printer and lots of wonderful craft things for the children .....

And as for the books that Gandalf sent up, well - THANK YOU THANK YOU - they are absolutely STUNNING !!! Also met Kesheshe and SO on my first Saturday there - they brought TONS of wonderful clothes - a HUGE thank you to you too ....

Fantastic pics Scouter and how great it is to be able to contribute even in a small way.
I've just been watching a TV programme about a charity called Granny Cloud where retired women in England chat via Skype to poor children in India in children's clubs telling about their lives and families, reading stories and helping their English.
I don't know if this is any way feasible in Tsammaland but it could surely expand the older children's experience if 'mites from different places could do the same sort of thing.

Can I have some packing lessons? Thought I was pretty good at making things fit but your attempt in cramming all of that stuff into your Landie was nothing short of masterful!
To the rest of the mites reading this thread, as my packing skills leave room for improvement , I need help! I have some more stuff to get up to Tsamma Land and am looking for a mite heading from Gauteng to assist. I am more than willing to drop off a box or two wherever you are situated within the Gauteng area. In addition to the boxes, I also have a table tennis table to go up to KTP. Anyone going up with a bakkie? / large unoccupied roof rack?

Morning All,

We went to visit the kids at the School yesterday to see what their reaction was regarding all the goodies they received. Teacher and kids were just over the moon, see below is what they just would like to share with all of you.

I do agree 1000%, and the best thing is that the kids love going to school. Had some of the moms yesterday who told me that they are so happy that thyeir kids homework is all up to date.

Gandalf !!!! You need mega - you are just AMAZING !! THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! It was pretty funny really, I was so packed I couldn't see out my rear-view mirror at all and was too scared to open the doors in case something fell out and I couldn't get it stuffed back in Thank goodness I went up alone - there wouldn't have been room for anyone else anyway !

Listening to them singing has me wondering if anybody there can play a musical instrument and whether they have anything like guitars, xylophones, piano etc?

Thanks for the updates Jannie and Scouter....I couldn't really hear what the kids were singing...the volume seems to be quite low ..but their happy faces and clapping hands said it all. Tsammaland is coming along really well.
