Who makes the decision DB? Addo or T-Marine or a combination?

Sal, it is the Addo HR Committee, I assume their RMC (Regional Management Committee), that will choose which region wins the boat.

They know about the forums and the VHRs. They were very, very helpful when we started to set up the VHRs. I trained with them and can vouch that they are a wonderful HR region.

Sounds like I am now buttering them up if they are reading here, but I mean this sincerely, and have said this before.

Each year one of the HR regions (the bigger, more established regions) host the Annual HR Indaba. This year Addo are hosting the Indaba at Addo NP. It starts next week and runs until next Saturday evening.

Yes

We are leaving on Wednesday, spending a night at Bontebok (first time for us) and then get to Addo on Thursday. Have a HR Chairs meeting on the Friday afternoon, and then on Saturday is the Big Indaba, the SANParks HRs AGM, which lasts the whole day, and in the evening is the Gala Dinner where the winner of the boat will be announced 8) amongst other speeches, awards and so on.

The last Bontebok

Once upon a time the chiefs of the SANParks tribe gathered around a fire. They had a discission to make, how to protect the last bontebok. They agreed that the bontebok must be saved, so after their meeting, the chiefs approached many other chiefs of the farmers tribe who owned some land. The SANParks tribe needed land where they could relocate the bontebok and where their warriors could protect it for the future members of the South African tribe.

The chiefs of the farmers tribe agreed and were willing to give land. A secret land were given for the bontebok, a land where the bontebok can roam free with the Langeberg Mountains to admire, the Breede river to explore and with fynbos in bloom. The bontebok were happy and has given birth to many more in the years to come.

The warriors later realised that protecting wasn't easy, especially patrolling the river with a very old canoe. The warriors approached the chiefs of the Addo Honorary Rangers tribe, who in turn asked help from the Ocean Legacy Marine also known as the T-Craft tribe. The chiefs of the T-Craft tribe were more than willing to assist and would give a much better canoe but they had one condition. The chiefs of the Addo Honorary Rangers tribe must go back to the other chiefs of the Honorary Rangers tribes and ask their members to win the new canoe for the bontebok and it's warriors.

The VHR tribe members have acceppted this challenge. They know how vital it is for the warriors to have this new canoe, not just to make patrolling the river by the warriors eassier, but also to keep the bontebok and it's children for many years to come, still safe. The warriors were very relief'd and were dancing with joy when they received the smoke signal that the VHR tribe are willing to help.
