Afternoon All,

Here are the long awaited pictures of hopefully the first of many clothing drive efforts.

It was sure an eye opener when we started to hand out the clothes, the eagerness of the kids to receive something and the spirit in which they have accepted it-as long as they could get 1 thing they were as happy as can be. I realized how privileged I am in what i have.

This morning the kids were just all walking with the 'presents' they received. Well I can go on and on about how much the people appreciated it but the thread would be too long, so on behalf of the KIDS and the Community and SANParks management I would like to thank each and every one who have donated, the need is much bigger than what I thought but at least through the mites we all have started making a difference.
We got most of the people together in a community hall and told them about the people who have donated and what the SANParks forum stands for.

Some of the clothes we received.

And we continue....

While we driving through Welkom looking for kids to give 'presents' to my camera batteries died on me, but I did however took pics with my phone, no to try and download them to post. As soon as the vehicle stopped we were greeted with little kids from all over who realised that Christmas came early.

Thanks again mites you all rock.

This is how the kids would like to thank the SANParks forum and the people who have made it come true.

This is one of the elders where the school kids go after school and clean her house, she was so amazed by the things we gave her from YOU ALL.

Just as we stopped the vehicle the kids startet running towards it.

We will be in the KTP in 20 days time with a box of goodies for you Jannie. In fact the knitting needles are clicking and clacking in the background at the moment and soon there will be another set of gloves for the box

Well done on this great project

Morning all,

This morning is again one of those very cold Kalahari mornings, and what brought a smile on my face was to see the little school kids wearing their Scarf’s, gloves and beanies to school.

Thanks again to you all, and I would like to ask that if you do have any old clothes or so lying around us in the KTP would find n new home for them.

Thanks again

Morning everyone from a cold and wet Cape Town - my car says its 9 degrees

I have just had a mail from Jannie with a request from the mothers of the little children in the communities where they handed out the clothes yesterday - they would PLEASE love some more knitted scarves, beanies, gloves and socks for their little ones. I spoke to Jannie yesterday afternoon and even though he was thrilled to have been able to give out so much, he said he felt really bad as he knew they didn't have enough to give to everyone so PLEASE, can I ask you to to perhaps visit your local P*P stores where the kids beanies, gloves and socks are all under R10 and if anyone can knit, to make some scarves for the little ones - big needles and thick wool are the best as they go really quickly

Thank you all so much once again and as always I am more than happy to come and collect from the Cape Town area. If anyone is going up in the near future and has space in their car to take things up please let me know too.

Arks and Pappa Smurf - thank you both too
