Evening to you all.
Three weeks left and then will start our summer SA/KNP trip.

Considering that some of us, lucky ones!, will be visiting SA/KNP in the very near future I will start a game with my 7 year old son putting wildlife at the base of fund raising.

We will give a value to, lets say the top 10-12 species, each sighting and increase the value according to the kind of sighting.
Example: male lion = value 5 rand donation
male lion on a kill = value 8 rand donation
leopard with cubs = value 20 rand donation
brown hyena = value 100 rand donation
this is just an example of the values and can be given to each species and values increase according to the species, A pangolin or brown hyena in KNP would have a higher value than lion leopard or cheetah, and situation they are spotted.

The total value of the sightings will be given as a donation to Sanparks and we already have a book ready for the sightings.

Just an idea but could make it interesting for those travelling soon.

Any ideas on value or very special sighting to insert!!!!!!

I am going to Kruger in September, and that is not that far away anymore

I am in to play this game

You make the list, I am going to print it and tick off and pay!

Ok DinkyBird, I'm using a wildlife list found on this forum and then add the "difficult" sighting and putting a value to each. Will have it ready during the week and post it.

I wont cheat, promise. This will be good training for me to learn to tick my sightings!

I started to learn at the HR Indaba's spotting day, and had great fun ... this will add to the life lesson

Hi Michel,

Great! getting my list ready and inserting a few more sightings:
- Yellow Ribbons = R 20
- Baboon raiding our fridge = R 50
- Snakes = R 20

trying to think of a few more "sightings" and situations to insert.

Good morning Boorgatspook, In order to avoid bankruptcy I've inserted a flat donation fee for impala, buffalo, warthog, giraffe, zebra, elephant and a few others.
On the other hand I've inserted a few "new" ones:
- Yellow Ribbons
- Meeting Wacktazz
- Flat Tyre
- Baboon raiding my fridge (taken from past experience)
- Over speeding in the park

List will be online by wednesday.
