The KNP section has a good discussion going on about rule-breakers, and Dotty suggested that I post this idea here for discussion. (Thanks Dotty!)

Maybe a country/language neutral "Do this, don't to this" portion could be added to the pamphlet people get upon entry? I know it won't do any good with the "I know what I'm doing!" crowd, but it could help with non-English speakers. (And those that don't read the info and toss it in the back with the kiddies)

Something along the lines of Ikea's little instruction cartoon, but add in a fine/punishment/consequence pic for those naughty people who are caught. :rtm: Maybe a few pictures would be more effective in getting the message across to all visitors.

This is a good idea.

My only fear is that the people breaking the rules are to a large extent South Africans.

Is the language really a problem for them?

I live in a UK National Park (deer, wild ponies pigs etc roaming free) and every so often on tarred roads is painted a large circle with 40 in it.
We also have poster competitions at schools. The children design posters and I think I am right in saying one came up with the slogan 20 is plenty. I agree it is the locals that speed here as well.

Dotty your idea is a great one. Most people (including South Africans) are lazy to read as a rule but more so while on holiday or driving. The pictures 'read' easier and even the children would then know when the adults are transgressing and if they're anything like my two they will definately like to share their knowledge!

This truly is a suggestion with a lot of merit!
