I am really serious about this fund-raising but are not clear on some points. Can u cast some light for me please. :?

How is the funds going to be raised or is it just donations? Are there really things that are going to be auctioned-off and if so is it stuff that we donate? Are the bets on the game for real or is it just fooling around?

Bert, R20.00 for a mini-skirt? For our legs you will definitely pay at least R500.00 to just have a climpse!

But we are not most lassies! Image

I will double that for any musketeer who dare to join the mini-club for the duration of one game.

So many ideas-it's hard to keep up!! The fundraising around the cricket event won't be for a Nossob cam-that was this year and we raised enough (just battling with implementation issues) so we need to choose a new project-DB will put up some options soon.

Now this is still about 9 months away-which is good as we still need to do things like get project codes in place via finance etc so that all we do is auditable...once the projects are decided on that is.

I'll be relying a lot on DB and some of the other forum members to organise the online side of the fundraising -we are so very appreciative of the efforts of this forum that we have even motivated the need for a Website PR and Events officer

In the meantime, DB will fill this roll  assisted by the other members who so generously give of their time, creativity and energy to SANParks via this forum...keep the ideas coming :-) This has our full support!

DB-over to you!

When in Skukuza i might try to hide a cricket ball somewhere near the pitch and if found it will be worth another R500

The funds raised are essentially donations - but to make it more fun for us all, 'bets' are a great way to go about involving everyone. I will start a 'betting' thread for the Cricket shortly.

We will also have online auctions, and perhaps some at the actual Cricket weekend. We can also have a raffel or two....

And we have a forum full of creative people - so all ideas are welcome! Please either PM me, or post any you might have!

As soon as we have a list of projects agreed upon with SANParks, we as a forum can decide which ones we'd like to work towards.

Yes it is all systems go now!!

Forumites - we also need fundraising ideas!!! Ideas where you'd like to see the funds go - lets see if we can get them registered as projects online. Some bets, challenges ... you guys are the creative ones, so lets see what we can come up with and raise for SANP!

We need more scorers! If CB comes, then I'll only be able to score a couple of innings....

What about making a donation to help improve the KTP waterholes?

Another fundraising prospect could be the new entrance for the Letaba Elephant Hall. 50% of the costs have been taken care of, and I've already been in touch with Admin, Diannet and Deebs about it, but still trying to pull a few (SANP) strings. The problem is, it's an HR project so no administrative link in the SANP system (yet). Will keep you all informed.

@Deebs: multitasking includes willingness to help with the blogging. So you can put me on that list as well. I'll have my reading glasses with me, this time.

Sounds like a good cause, Jose!
