The posting up of form members’ scrap book pages see here
) was the inspiration behind the idea of placing scrapbooks filled with forumites contributions of photo’s, poetry etc. in the reception areas of national parks camps.
Samples of scrapbooks were compiled, just to give an idea of the proposed project and were shown to the relevant people at Addo and the Kruger National Park before announcing the idea as we did not want to raise hopes without getting permission for the project first. Both parks were thrilled with the idea and gave the go ahead.
So, forum members, now that permission has been granted we can start compiling these books. The moderators have suggested I coordinate the project as I have scrapbooking experience. As it is late in the year, for those of you who are interested (and let’s hope that’s all of you lol!) for now perhaps everyone can start collecting photos as well as any other memorabilia that could be used for the scrapbooking pages.
I will be holding classes (free of charge) for forum members living in the Cape Town area who would like help creating their pages.
Peeps remember this is a fun project for EVERYONE, scrapbooking is not only for the “artistic”! anyone can do it, just give it a try.
I will be posting up details of where to purchase the blank pages as well as all the other goodies you can use on the pages.
Next year, perhaps someone can take a sample scrapbook to KTP, and if they agree, books can be placed there too.
On another note, Jay and Diannet have discussed the forum members’ visitors’ book idea and will post up an idea of what the book could look like for you to discuss. They will then proceed with gaining permission from the relevant people to place the books in the parks/camps, so watch this spot…..
