Angels on an Avian Mission.
Mission Statement.

The A-Team is comprised of the following members:

Wanda: an esteemed member who will add wit, wisdom and credibility to the mission. (Without whose blessing the mission would not have taken off) A spotter.
Admin: on a mission to experience the sights, smells and sounds of the wild, up close and personal. (Without whose blessing the mission would not have taken off) Also a spotter.
Diannet: a keen emerging birder whose journalistic prowess will ensure accurate and entertaining documentation of this mission. Also a spotter.
Hopefully Rene: what mission is complete without an excellent PR person. Also a spotter.
Sandra: an ace at GIS, the Cybertracker expert, data capturer. Also a spotter.
Gwendolen: chef extraordinaire, ops specialist, photographer. Also a spotter.
Dinkybird: photographer, data capturer, logistics specialist. Also a spotter.
Jay: Team coordinator, data capturer, photographer. Responsible for submission of accurate report of findings to interested parties.
Mission: to locate elusive Pel’s Fishing-Owl, photograph, record exact location and any other relevant information.
Method: on foot, in the dense riverine vegetation of the untamed Olifants River, using GPS, Kruger field guides to ensure the safety of the A-Team members.
Mission dates: arrive in KNP 15 November, search designated area 16 November, move on to recuperate 17, 18 November.
Addendum: Have been advised (EWT) NOT to disturb iow locate the Pel’s which have been located and documented (GPS) AND that the pair on the Olifants morning bush walk have vacated the area( Julius, KNP). Thus mission has taken on the further challenge of finding as yet unseen/unlocated birds!!!!!
As yet not finalised: The A-Team will need a large, wise, witty back up team to whom the mission events will be relayed via various technological gadgets. This back up team will then be required to post up all intel. on the forums in great detail. The A-Team acknowledges this may include some mishaps and events which are amusing at the cost of the team members.
Addendum II: Raising funds for Cybertracker equipment which are needed to keep track of the seemingly dwindling numbers of the beautiful Pel's Fishing-Owl and other animal species.

Will The A Team achieve what they have set out to do? Of course they will!! You have a doubt?? Discuss and place your 'bets' here and help raise funds for Cybertracker Equipment for
SANParks CyberTracker.

Quote:
Pledges

Musketeers:
Bert - R200 for photographic proof of a Pels

DuQues - I'm with you Bert! (R200) Mini or Pels DQ???

Jacov - a pic of your WHOLE team camping........ R200 enough?

Johan van Rensburg - R100-says at least one of you'll need more two days to recover!

Muhammad - for every NT spotted and recorded, i will donate R1000.00

Timbo - I will donate 100 rand if anyone gets me the Gps cords of a pels nest and takes me there in a day, so that no one knows about it.......

Deville - Photo evidence of Pel’s R 200.00, Photo evidence of NT R 200.00, R 100.00 should you find the Olifants River.

Toddelelfe - R 250, if the A-Teamm will have some serious laughers, and another R 250 if they have some Amarula.

Bentley - R300 to the ladies with evidence on Pels other than the ones already located.

BGS - R200 for photo proof of a Pels, double up (R400) if the Pels is a Angel!

Richprins - Got no money, so if Angels succeed I'll put my lovely face up on the "mugshots" thread.

Hawk - If all this preparation just produces a nice pic of a glossy starling or maybe even a yellow billed hornbill I'll pledge R500.

BGS - PS: I'll throw in R 200,00 donation to the A-Team if my prediction is the nearest.... (referring to the WCR score)

JoelR - I bet R200 that all the people involved will have a lot of fun. If you find the owl I´ll come congratulate you personally on Monday in KNP

Angels:
Jose - R200 for photographic proof of a Pels... BUT photo(s) must be taken by one or more of the Mission Angels, and NOT harvested from the internet! Angel(s) (preferably with thumbs up) in foreground scores double!

ZZ - R500 says the Angels can do anything they put their minds to.

ZZ - Ag Jacov just to show you I think your mug is worth more than 2 pennies - I pledge another R100

Restio - I bet R200 that the angels will achieve their goal!

Sioux - R100 - Angels achieve their goal, R100 - DB to get Jacov mug's up, R100 - Amarula drinking pels tree

Reinette - 5c for Jacov's mugshot, and a pledge that the angels will find the owl

ZZ - R50 says the musketeers would not report the ongoings accurately.

P@m - R200 for a full facial frontal of Richprins on the Mugshots thread. And another R200 if you angels all have a good time on your mission.

Aboon - I bet R200 that the angels will find their Pells.

Elsa - R200 FOR the girls finding their quest

P@m - I'll add R100 for a pic of the angels with a Smiling Frank, at the end of the mission when he's most apt to want to tear his hair out !

Jose - First one of you to hear (report via MMS) a Woody, earns another R100 for the CyberTracker project.

Bouf - A pic of the Angel team "exercising" has got to to worth R200

Is the GBP still a better bet than paying in Rand?
