Anyone coming to Cape Town soon?

Unread postby Bush Baptist » Thu Jun 18, 2009 1:33 pm

Hi the CT forumites have not met for a while.

If you are coming to CT, why not give us reason to get together again.

Rely on this thread please.

Hi BB, Kamprunner and anyone else reading this message. We arrive in CT
on 26th sept and leave for the Karoo on the 28th.
Would love to meet up with anyone in the area, especially you BB as we want to pick your brains for a trip to KTP in the not to distant future. After reading your trip reports BB we think you are the expert.
We are back in CT on the 8/9th oct,we can meet up then if you wish.
We are also staying in Bontebok for a couple of days and any advice on these two parks would be most appreciated, weather, sightings etc.
UK nice at the moment, long days, warm evenings, just right for a few beers in the garden.
Please pm me if you wish to meet up in CT.
Take care wherever you are
PF and SO.
A poor life this, if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

City Grill at the Waterfront. It has traditional SA meals including game meat, plus other fare. I will book under the name of 'forum'.
Any family members are welcome, just let me know how many beforehand please.

Monday 17th August, 19h00, City Grill. CT Waterfront.
When you get to the Waterfront, look for the flagpole in the main square. Turn your back on the water and the CG is to your right 45 degrees, next to the Greek Fisherman??

If anyone else has more precise directions go for it!

Um... just had a thought...

I've never actually met any of you before, so I don't know what you all look like. Do any of you have any distinguishing features, like pink hair (sadly, I don't have mine anymore), or a neon yellow dinner jacket?

Tonight can I go to the restaurant and just say i'm part of the table with +15 people, or is the booking under a particular name?

I have this fear i'll end up sitting with some business conference for most of the night, none the wiser...

I'm going to be there by 6:45, because i'm always early for everything, so if you're there eartly and you see the lost/ confused girl, it's me.

Hey Moose, this is being organized by BB, not an angel.

The table is booked under the name of FORUM and I hope to be first there. Look for the YELLOW RIBBON

If you get among a group of businessmen, they might pay for you

Woohoo! It appears I have the first post-meet post :) EDIT: I did when I started to type, then Caracal beat me to it!

Thanks so much to everyone for a wonderful evening. It was such treat to meet all of you, and I can't wait for the next one.

You were all as awesome (and even awesomer!) than I had imagined you to be. This forum has really changed my life. When you get to meet the people who make you laugh each day; the ones who also offer encouragements and share their stories and their amazing trip reports and photos, it's just... wow.

Oh, What I would do to be a Pring right now! To have two months exploring the best of South Africa ahead of me... . Brook (Jr. Pring) was a real highlight of my night.

Thank you everyone!

It was yet another great CT meet. What nice people we have on this forum. There were people from as far away as Australia, England, USA and Durbanville.

I sat next to Bennievis and kept him under control :hmz: or was it the other way round :hmz: or was it his SO.

BTW, did anyone forget to add the service charge into their bill?

Oh you are a funny lot... I am sure there will be more photos in time...some people have further to go than me to get home (like all the way to England) I must apologise though I am not the best person around to take people photos. I sort of forget.
So that is it from me I am afraid....

The fundraising figure for our forumite meets, stands at R160.

That is an very admirable feat Prings  ...please let me know which project your funds are going to...I would like to add a fifty in honour of the Famous Five Prings that I shared a table with last night!!!!
