Hi Shane...no I don't really know of a venue..but normally Scout halls can be rented for a nominal fee.
As regards the photographic outing..well it is just that ..a photographic outing. We meet at a chosen venue....maybe a place like Kirstenbosch....lends itself to birds/macro/landscapes. We walk around..photograph , chat , help..picnic..etc.
I think the only way to do something like this ..be it an outing or a talk is to set the date and then advertise it...and then people will respond...

BTW Shane are you Canon or Nikon man...

An outing sounds great .. if its Kirstenbosch for those that dont go out to work a Tuesday is the best ( pensioners are free!!!!)
Can I tag along ......I dont have a camera

Coffee would be great!
We're off tomorrow to Golden Gate and the Drakensberg - back on the 14th Feb and of course we'll see you at the cricket :dance:

Hugh and I are meeting for coffee at the tearooms(upper car park) at Kirstenbosch next Tuesday at about 10am.
