Don't swim in the Rhine.
I lived in Dusseldorf for a couple of years and regularly ran from the airport around the two bridges and back again.
Often witnessed all sorts of 'debris' heading down stream including cars, doors, chest freezers and assorted furniture and other items not suitable to mention on this forum.
There was also the small matter of the huge amount of boats.
One of my colleagues did swim across but he was mad!!
Enjoy Dusseldorf particularly the Altstadt

Unfortunately we missed the whole Euro Meet in Düsseldorf yesterday. :wall:

Due to a traffic jam near Monchengladbach we came 15minutes later(at 10.45) and the group had already left the meeting point. :cry:

Too bad we didn’t have a phone number or else we could have asked what the location of the group was so we could join them after all…

Maybe we will be lucky and can participate in a next Euro Meet? :pray:

We hope you all had a good time and lots of fun…

oh, such a shame

, you can only have missed us for some minutes because we waited just for another tram to arrive and then decided to start toward the media harbour (just along the Rhine to the south from where we were supposed to meet...), had lots of photo stops :cam:

and then a Coffee / Water / Beer :thumbs_up:

at the famous Gehry Houses...
So next time we will exchange phone no before the event - just in case!

We had a ball!

Currently waiting for approval of the photos we deemed good/informative enough to show you. There are people in it, and they should have the chance to take out photos...
But soon going to share the album, which is near 80 photos. Most are of architecture though, showing where we went.

Ach shame vinkie.....
We waited and one even went back to the tram stop to see if you were there

Even more shame, as we were not too far away in a bistro in the habour having a coffee :wall:

Next time we have to exchange the mobile number beforehand.

Yes it was yet another wonderful Meet and it was HOT....
We nearly melted, as we had chosen the hottest weekend of this years Summer for the Meet,lol.

We went to the Media Harbour, afterwards we had lunch in a brewery. Drove to a very picturesque part of the town, Keiserswerth, enjoyed the shade of a Beergarden before returning to the city centre for an evening with dinner in a Schumachers Brewery.
There was a lot of talking, laughter and taking photos....

Here are some photos I took on the Saturday (sorry, no pics of the people right now, as everybody still needs to decide if and which photos may be published...).

And we were so closeby still! Probably still on the promenade next to the river! You will definitely be included in another meet.

We had SO much fun. It was disgustingly hot! We have a photo in the shade of the beer garden, indicating the temp at 38 degrees.... :shock:

Vinkie, this was an awful case of mistaken identity.

I invited another guy with the same name who also happens to share a lot of our FB accounts not realizing it wasn't you! You accepted here, he never gave a final yes, he'll be there on FB. And I got the 2 totally messed up. I was looking for HIM and passed on HIS description to Richard who went looking for you and everybody else!

My sincere apologies. This is one of the worst cases of pure coincidence I've ever experienced.
