Magnifying Loupe / loop

Unread postby Gamer » Thu Jan 14, 2010 12:02 pm

Hi guys, new to the forums here and I need some advice.

Does anyone know where I can buy magnifying loop. 3 Lens prefrebly. I had the chance to buy one the other day for R65, but I didn't have any cash on me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have seen that "cigar shops" have them at times ... you could ask a genuine jeweller too, they may point you in the correct direction.

Instead of buying a loop, I used the first lens (Eyepiece tube) off a kiddies microscope, it woRks great, and boasts a x5 magnification, but even better, it's about 6cm long, with the lens right at the base of the tube, this allows me to look at all the fine details of scorpions without endangering my fingertips...

Hi Gamer
I supply loops to lodges, FGASA training schools and use them during my courses that I give. I have a 3 lens loop at R73 excluding postage. I'm in West Africa (Mali and Guinea) at the moment but will be back in SA around the 30th April
