Wondered if any experts out there could cast any light on these beyond that:

2 is a Giant Millipede photographed at Oudtshoorn late November

Thanks

Hi and welcome NIQ! :yaya:

That looks like a shongololo (African Giant Millipede) to me, so probably a Archispirostreptus gigas.
The latin name is likely to be wrong as I think there are several kinds, but should help with IDing it.

Hi friends,

As you all probably know, these millipedes are very common in KNP. We saw them quite often both in camps and in the road, and also in the morning walk we did.

Now, back home, looking for its identification, the only clue I found was that this would be a Black Portuguese Millipede (Ommatoiulus moreleti), and, in this case, an invading species... Is this correct?

Cheers
Charbel
