This one is called a Novice. Of the genus Amauris, the Novice is distributed from KZN south coast to Mapungubwe in the north along lowlands and riverine forests. With wings in the open position it looks as in the following image:

Could somebody please tell me the name of this butterfly, seen in St. Lucia/KwaZuluNatal? Thanks in advance :thumbs_up:
