New to the forum, hope you guys/gals can help...

This spider was found inside a box of grapes bought today, hoping someone here will be able to identify it.

Hi Guys, my girlfriend found this on spider in her room after being bitten by something about two weeks ago... We actually found a spider after she got bitten, but it turned out to be a Rain Spider... However, she did get extremely sick the next day, so we went to the hospital anyway (with the spider - before knowing what it was)... He (or she) is extremely aggressive and very quick.. looks like it wants to attack your hands if you move the thing a bit.. So anyway, here it is..
BTW it's in a flat on the first floor in Illovo, Joburg

Anyone got any ideas?

My wife and I have found quite a few of these in our closet in Douglasdale, Johannesburg and now my wife is extremely concerned that we or our two cats might be in danger.
They are very small, maybe 3-4mm in length.
Could someone please identify these for me and let me know if they're dangerous to humans or cats?
If they are, how do I get rid of them?

Thanks

Hi WillBen!

Yes, you are correct with your first pic. It is indeed a rain spider.

As far as your pic # 2 is concerned, I am not able to assist - sorry!

hi Willbill, this is only a wild guess, the second pic could be a grass funnel-web spider. Ps did you know that the rain spider can bite, females are very protective of the eggs. a bite can cause nausea, pain, swelling and palpitation. also known as huntsman spider

Howzit,

I saw this guy on a night drive from Letaba rest camp back in September. I didn't catch what the guide said. Something like "Red roman"??

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks!

Hi everybody,
I have just returned for a much needed and long overdue visit to the KNP. (family was exetended
Except this time it is not birds that i need help in identifying. the colourfull one i could unfortunately not photograph the back (top) side. Hope somebody will know just from the underbelly. The brownish one was inside the lake panic bird hide.
Please help with the 2 images added.
I also saw a very odd looking snake in Skukuza camp but will post that under reptiles. :hmz:
Many thanks
Jet

Jet,

It looks like a Golden Orb-Web Spider to me.

The other one looks like a type of huntsman spider. Does not spin webs.
