Hey Karen,

My bet would be the Yellow-legged Burrowing Scorpion, Opistophthalmus glabrifrons, However I might very well be mistaken,
I live 700km away from Centurion, so I don't know the area's scorps very well at all.

Second opinions anyone?

Im not a scorpion expert, but I will keep very far away from this one! It looks like a parabuthus? Maybe dr scorpion can assist us?

Last night at home I had to do a rescue job. I am not sure if I rescued the dog from the scorpion or the scorpion from the dog. Which ever way, it was a big scorpion and a bad one. As far as I have it, it is one of the Thick-Tail species. What amazed me was the amount of venom that it expressed when I touched it with the braai tongs.

oh and that scorpion I see its small all I do know is that its sting will hurt you quiet a bit if it penetrates your skin, I had a small black one like that sting me at home a few years back It felt like hornets were consistently stinging me for 4 days afterwards

Those with big pincers and small tails are least poisonous.
Those with small pincers and large tails are most poisonous! Such as this one

@Lower Sabie it could be a very young parabuthus transvaalicus but his tail looks too thin to me. Tougher to tell when theyre small though so thats just a possible and not a definite. Even at that size though any of the buthidae family would definitely still be one to avoid at all costs. It is excruciatingly painful and unfortunately due to my own stupidity, I speak from experience ALWAYS wear completely closed shoes @ night !!

Good thing I did not know at the time because I just casually picked him up by the tail and placed him outside.
