It started raining at Pafuri at 5 a.m. yesterday. 123 mm so far (10h55 this morning), and it is still coming down in buckets.

Luvuvhu River rising fast.

Taken on 18 Feb Malagant.

The river is running nicely (and there has been more rain since then) , but not full as you can see. (Excuse the beverage in the pic, but I took it to make my kids in the US homesick  and is the only pic I have of the river  )

Taken from high water bridge over Letaba yesterday evening. The river is flowing the strongest (widest) I have ever seen, and there was good rain overnight here.

I'm in the Timbavati (no, I am not swimming in the river, but at the farm Johnniesdale). 38mm last night, 3 this morning and another 11 this afternoon. From at distance it looks as if Hoedspruit is getting a proper drenching. If this continues (and SAWS is predicting it will), then lots of rivers will come down in flood). Sit back and wait for it.

The Croc Bridge is once again open.
Let's hope more heavy rains stay away.
