I am also wondering if it was dagga was imported into Kruger from Hazyview or did it came across the border with Kruger. I found some stats on goods confiscated the previous years, although not only in Kruger, but you will note high trafficking of illegal goods across our borders.

Great to hear that if these smugglers can slip through the SADF they are still caught on the other side unless I interpreted the info wrong and some-one wants to smoke lots of pot in Kruger.

Great news! And I even got stopped and checked today......I was only coming from an office the other side of the gate....in uniform, with my decals on! So good to know they will check carefully.

EJ, That is really great news that even a Legend such as yourself was searched. I am very pleased that staff are also checked

I would never object to being searched at the gates,(I have often commented about how lax security has been in the past) in fact anyone who has a passion for the park would not mind being searched either, the security guards are ultimately there to help protect what we love the most- Kruger Park :D

Well done once again to the new security men and women at the gates

It is heartening that there are visible improvements in Kruger's security processes. Well done, management. :congrats:

Just back from a short visit; in at Kruger Gate and out a day later at Orpen; the new security personnel are a VAST improvement.
Careful checks of the vehicle on entry and on leaving.
Cheerful, polite and enthusiastic individuals.

Long may it continue.

Val and EJ, you two just look highly suspicious, so expect to be stopped often

It is really nice to be greeted by smart men and woman in the green SANParks uniform at the gates. And to be searched. While at Croc Bridge I had to wonder how long before someone complains about waiting in the queue to exit the park while the searches take place.

Pics taken with permission.

Camp gates are also now monitored by SANParks.
