Do you know if the course is fenced off ? I have heard stories of a cheetah killing an Impala on a fairway :?

Would be quite interesting to find your golf ball resting next to a croc? Do you get a free drop? :hmz: There is probably some new rules to the game that applies only to this course, will have to strap th egolf bag on the roof for my next visit...

I played my one and only ever round of golf there - before the Cricket at Skukuza this year! It was fantastic and I hope we do it again next year. There were warthogs on the course - but no other animals while we played.

Ecojunkie - not sure if it is fenced off - don't think so. And the stories of animal encounters are endless!! As for a free drop next to la croc - I think it is in the local rules!! Well, I free-dropped off a pile of dry elephant ....

So, strap that bag onto your car and tee off already! It is truly an inspiring experience!!

I recall a story (might be from these forums) about a family of cheetah catching an impala on one of the fairways during a round of golf...

Wonder what the rules would determine for this situation?
Rule 56(i) (33) subsection 20: "UHDTCK"

"Unplayable hole due to cheetah kill"

The golf course in Phalaborwa borders the Kruger and the are also various animals walking around on the course. I have heard of cases where cheetah's have killed Impala's on a faiway. There are obviously some hippo's and croc's in the dams on the course.

So the same rules would count for both of these two courses.

Hi Kruger-Junkee,

I have just joined Skukuza Golf Course and it costs R650.00 per year. Go to www.globalhandicaps.co.za and it will take you about 15 minutes to join. Skukuza is an awesome course to play - I have played it quite a few times.

Enjoy!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Here is the rest of what you want.

And Rule 56(i) (33) subsection 20: "UHDTCK"????

Of course not! Anticipation! If that happens you aim your ball to the other side so you can continue golfing without hindering cheetah, ellie, lions, warthogs...

Thanks Andy ,Marais and Duques

The problem I've got Duques is that I don't hit where I aim  Will use "UHDTCK" rule as an excuse....

Andy I have heard rumours this morning that they are looking to make the course available for the staff and residents of the Park only - like it used to be,can you confirm that this is not true?

Another tip for golf in the wild- use older golf balls, have seen a funny clip of a seagull picking up a golf ball off the green(probably mistaken it for food or an egg) and then midway after take-off he dropped it in the water - any new rules for this one?

I joined on Sunday 16 November through globalhandicaps and my application has been accepted and I have received my membership number for the next year so it should be fine.

I have played Skukuza many times and it is one of my favorite golfing experiences. I have seen leopard up the Maroela tree on the first fairway with an Impala Kill, 3 elephant on the 3rd fairway and giraffe, Warthog, Kudu and many wonderful birds. The two ladies that run the kitchen at the club house prepare a very tasty breakfast and are always friendly and helpful as are all the staff at the club.
I would recommend the course to anyone - golf with a difference!!

Certainly a round of golf with a difference, with all that sightings an error on the scorecard could be possible.

I remember playing at Brits the other day, there were cows walking across one of the greens in front of us and they're hoofs caused significant damage to the green - imagine a herd of elephant exploring the short cut grass...

Great stuff I think a round at Skukuza will take longer than your usaul golf course, keeping in mind all the sightings on the way
