Hi Marlieswout, welcome to the forum.

I don't normally use the online tool for booking, I tend to use the email option but I will try to help.

Firstly you can only use the online booking for up to 9 months in advance.
Booking now for September or October next year (11 months in advance) will have to be done over the phone, by email or in person.

Booking on line you will need to pay all the cost in advance.
I do not know what happens if you want to change the reservation and I'm not sure if you get a credit against your account or if you get a refund.

If you make the reservation by other methods then you can still use the online system to pay your deposit and final payments.

I will try to see if I can get some answers to your questions.

There is a series of video tutorials on how to use the online booking system that may provide some answers. The can be found here.

The usual way it happens is:=

1.Make booking and receive Deposit Request Letter for first deposit.
2.Pay first deposit and receive another Deposit Request Letter with altered amount, showing first deposit paid, and how much and when the last deposit is due.
3.Pay last deposit when due and receive Confirmation Letter that shows a zero balance.

Hope that helps.

July is extremely popular in Kruger - particularly during the school holidays which next year are from 22 June - 14 July. I would definitely recommend that you pre-book your day permits. Rather be safe than sorry

Ya I agree with redlomo  go to www.sanparks.org then Kruger National parks, so then you can check out the camps and see what is available and then book online :D

Tim Welcome to the Forum...just remember, when you book online as suggested above you have to pay the full amount upfront....I would suggest you look to see whats available and make a booking online (for 2 or 3 nights), pay for it and then login to your booking and you can make changes etc as you please...!!! They do not charge you to make changes so far in advance..only 1 month in advance stop making changes, and the changes you make can be paid as per your updated booking :D :D

It is also cheaper to book online and pay upfront.

Link to Availability

Also, have a look a month before your planned trip (don't leave booking that late!) to see if your preferred accommodation options become available and you can change the booking. If clients do not pay their full deposit on due date (one month before their visit) the booking is cancelled, and thus accommodation options become available again.

Hi,

I am new to this forum and have a question regarding bookings:

I would like to make a booking for a wilderness trail, and I am not opposed to doing it through the online booking system. However, I would like clarification regarding refunds the refunds policy, because my travel plans are not absolutely finalized.

If I were to cancel a booking with more than 30 days advance notice, would I get a full refund? I see rules spelled out for 30-15 days before reservation, etc., so am I correct in assuming a full refund if cancelled with more than 30 days advance notice?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Hi cgo111 and a warm welcome to the forum!

I would read it as more than 30 days = full refund as well.

Found this on the Availability page

Please Note:
Availability information is updated real-time (unless interrupted by technical difficulties) between our reservation system and this website. As reservations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, we cannot guarantee that accommodation you see as available now will still be available when you make a reservation.

Just yesterday I moved one of my bookings to a later date and when I checked, noticed that it had changed accordingly on the availability.

Hope that helps

Also don't forget now with the new 2013 reservations the final balance now has to be paid 60 days prior to arrival so unpaid reservations will become available sooner . :hmz:

Can you please tell me how do I change an existing reservation to a different type in the same camp for the same dates?
(for an example BD2U unit to BD2V in Olifants Rest Camp)
And how do I know which bungalow I will get? For an instance all BD2U bungalows have number below it in red brackets representing 3,2,1
Thank you very much.

Hi EE

Are you looking on the monthly availability page? Those numbers in red are the numbers of units still available.

Are you registered with online bookings? You can try and amend it online, or you can email reservations with the change. How long before you arrive in the park?

Hi ElephantEars,

If you booked your accommodation online it is pretty straightforward to change it online too. In fact I literally just changed mine.

Check first that the accommodation you want is available by going to the left hand panel of the Home Page and finding Travel - Availability - Olifants - "Monthly calender or a particular date".

If it is available go to Travel - Reservations.

Click on "Book and Pay Directly Online".

Click on "Review Existing Reservations"

Click on the Reservation number you want to change.

Find the one that you are changing and click on Cancel

That will take off the accommodation already booked - you have to do that first otherwise it will throw you out at the end.

Then click on "Add Itinerary"

That will take you through to allow you to choose the new accommodation you want.

If the new accommodation is more then there will be no modification fee once you have chosen the new one.

Go to checkout and pay any balance due.

Have a great trip

Some good news,

I e-mailed Mr Joep Stevens and informed him in no uncertain terms what I think of this utter redicilous ruling and what inconvenience it caused me and the good news is he informed me via an e-mail today that they are buzy revising the oudtated policy to accommodate moving from one to another unit if need be.

Hope the result will be positive and SOON
