And like he know what will happen he said it will come today. So ist rained through the hole night, some roads had to be closed, and its still raining from time to time.

Greetings Martin

Dear All,

Great news that the north had some reprieve yesterday. Shingwedzi had 9,8mm and Mopani 34mm. I see it looks promising for today, especially in catchment of Shingwedzi River. Let's hold thumbs!

Kind regards.

That's good to see! Hope it got more rain over the weekend. We sure had quite a bit of rain in Gauteng...

Being a Northerner and visiting Shingwedzi on numerous occasions and it being my favourite camp. This TITLE almost gave me a HEART ATTACK.

There has been lots of rain recently. Hopefully the camp is fine.

Just got back from Shingwedzi - the river is not running yet but there are large pools of water in the bed. Kanniedood Dam has started re-filling and there is now some water from the dam wall almost up to the bird hide. There is water at the Causeway and already crocs have taken up residence! It is still very dry up there but the the far north (Punda area) is possibly worse. Have never heard that Shingwedzi was ever closed due to lack of water and don't think that this will happen now.

Thanks on the info PNF

The area between Punda and Shing is always very dry, although there are patches of greenery and water. I do agree, I dont think Shing will be closed down due to drought, otherwise if there is NO Shing, it will be a huge drive from Punda to Mopani.
