In KTP its essential you reduce your tyre pressures and of course the surface is very different to Kruger, being sandy.
I would think one has to be very careful on Kruger's roads due to any sharp stones etc that could easily cut the side wall of the tyre if it was deflated, of course this is just my very non technical opinion! 8)

Thanks Hippogratus, I'm so glad to read your post this morning, as that's more or less what I posted last night.
I tried to tell Noeg that KTP and Kruger are two very different places, but I seemed to be on my own with my thoughts at that point, and not being an expert, I was not sure enough of my facts to pursue the matter!!!!
If it had been practical, I'm sure it would have been in force after all these years, and the fact that it isn't says it all!! !!

I always deflate my tyres while krugerparking, to me its the norm, have no idea why more people dont do the same. At game viewing speed it provides us with a much more pleasent drive on a sand road. Travelling at game viewing speed (on sand roads)(or on tar) definately makes a difference to our comfort and enjoyment. I have deflated my tyres from a small sedan to a double cab bakkie(pick up).
If the corregations on the sand road make driving uncomfortable, your tyres are to hard or you are driving to fast, slow down and drive according to the corregations.

After all that , never had a puncture but the gear stick fell out of its mountings, was rescued by fellow visitors and KNP staff.
