I am standing in front of the restaurant at Letaba with the huge expanse of floodplain in front of me.

The sun rising and setting any place in the park.
Smell of the thatch. All the little fires at night.

O my goodness I'm so Kruger Home sick.
Only 27 sleeps to go!!

For me it is sitting with the windows open scouring Sunset Dam looking for the biggest croc on the bank, or sitting at the Afsaal having a toasted sandwich and coffee.... one of my favourite places to stop and eat. (food is one of the thinks always on my mind.....) :)

Smell of the bush and sitting by the fire overlooking the Olifants river from Olifants rest camp, you feel like you are on top if the world. Hearing lions and hyena sounds filling the night air

What a fantastic topic

1. I have to agree, nothing says summer in Kruger like the call of the Woodland Kingfisher.

2. The sound of Hippo at night. Whenever I hear that sound (on TV or in real life), I immediately think of those Kruger nights. You are guaranteed to wake up at least once when staying close to water in Kruger.

3. The big trees in the the riverbeds (Fever tree, Sycamore fig etc.). When ever I see any of these big trees I think of the beautiful river drives that Kruger offer.

4. Coffee and rusks - Love it!!! Whenever I have these two together I think about those early morning drives with the crisp air in you face. Nothing like it.

5. Finally, the smell you get when you drive past I Rhino midden. Love it or hate it, you know you've arrived in Kruger when you drive past one of these. It can make your eyes water
