Lovely shot Jan! Lovely to see the Hamerkop flying into the scene!

Of course there are other forumites having Sunset Dam pictures (although not that many, it's a bit far from home for us .....some + 9,500 km.... :? )

Speaking about hyena at Sunset Dam, these guys were feasting on a dead hippo (in good 'company'.... )

Hi Jan,

Lovely three banded plover! These are such fine birds! Somewhere there must be a picture of a tbp in my archive with a nice reflection of the bird in the water but it isn't shot at the sunset dam, I think it was a the Shingwedzi causeway, another beautiful spot for making lovely pictures in the KNP... ( a new topic is born.....?)
Thank you for liking my hyena pictures, it will be difficult for me to keep the topic going on with postings just because I am not from South Africa and it takes a lot of investments on our side to supplement our stock of pictures....
Well, here is an another "tummy full" hyena picture :D

Hi Philip1,

Thank you for liking our pictures!
As far as I remember I shot the picture early in the morning, the hyenas were resting after a whole night feasting on the carcass
(it was rather cloudy so the light wasn't that good)

Best regards,
