I tend to do the same as Carol. The Pick n Pay center has all the necessary shops needed.

I often buy a grilled chicken, fresh rolls and salad for my first night at the Pick n Pay. It takes away the hassle of supper and is usually tasty and reasonably priced. They also have a Woolies, but last time I was there, it did not have food.

It is also convenient for cash withdrawals.

Yes, I think that is where it is, in the same mall but at the other end.

Definitely so. Same Mall (Blue Haze). The Checkers in Hazyview is also pretty good. And I could tell you about a local butcher....

Hi

We are going via Hazyview to the Kruger next week and want to buy groceries stuff at Blue Haze mall. Which one of the 3 supermarket, Spar, Shoprite or Pick and Pay would you guys suggest is the best to use.

Thank you

Hi,

I'm driving from Kruger airport (Nelspruit) and looking to enter the park at the Phabeni gate. Need to do a little shopping on the way, include purchasing a cooler box. Just wondering if folks recommend White River, or rather take the extra effort to go to Hazyview and then backtrack? I get into the airport about 10am, so should have plenty of time to buy groceries/cooler etc and get to Skukuza which is first nights stop (first night of 10 :-). Just don't want to spend too much time doing it though as I'd rather have more time in the park

Thanks in advance, and hope to see some of you in Kruger between Nov19-29th!

Sharky

You will go through Hazyview on your way to Phabeni gate anyway. The shopping centre is on your right after turning at traffic lights in Hazyview. It is probably best to stop there.

Before in this topic there was mentionned that it's only a 10 minutes drive from Phabeni gate to the shops in Hazyview.I was there before but can't remember the distance and i had the feeling that it was 25/30 km.
Can timing be confirmed?
And if you leave at Malelane for shopping what will be the time or Distance to the mall?

But ....we also like to spend max time in the park.
Still 2 nights to go :D

Malelane shopping area is about 10mins from the gate. I am not too sure about Phabeni and Hazyview as I do not use that often, but agree 20/30mins might be closer.

Thanks Ecojunkie, much appreciated. Looks like straight to Hazyview for shopping, then into the mighty Kruger National Park, can't wait!
