Most of the restaurants have decent service, Mopani and Letaba is very good. Lower Sabi must be good, I just didn't feel like standing there for an hour.

The restaurant at Berg en Dal will never see me again. Last time I was there in April the service was terrible along with poor quality food, I made a complaint with the camp manager as there was no supervision to complain too. I did receive an apology via a voice message.

I would rather make my own burger before I have to sit there again and boil over.

whats a breakfast wrap...?
whats a boma...? is it related to food...?
does any one knows the price of a meal in KNP restaurants ? (like in LS Skukuza BnD)? Thanks in advance !!!

A Boma is basically an outdoor entertainment area, usually thatched with open sides, in Southern Africa, can be used for a variety of purposes.
A breakfast wrap is also usually, Bacon/egg etc wrapped in a flour Tortilla, (a flat pancake) but not sweet at all.
Some images Here
Hope this helps.

I will try and find the KNP menu and prices.

See Duco has beat me too it! :D

Dear Lawrence,

Many thanks for your enquiry. Compass is still managing the KNP restaurants until such time as the new model has been fully implemented.

With kind regards.

Hi Guys,
Just my 2 cents:
LS have jacked their food as well as service up a lot!! We did not want to eat from there in the past because you had to wait for a long time for food that was less than pleasing to the eye and the tummy. Now their service is very good, and food is amazing!!! I would hope so, as you tend to spend more money on the food in the park than the entrance fees :)

It has to be said though, and I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem. Skukuza's service is not good. In fact, waiting for a hour and a half for your food is way below satisfactory. On the plus side, the food was very good! (Although we had to eat quickly in order to make the gate before closing time).

Afsaal's food and service is good, service not as good as LS, but still good. Only problem is I get the feeling (when looking at the kitchen) that the cutlery is dirty and gruby, which is enforced when you use the cutlery. We were in the Kruger at a very busy time, so that may change during low tourist times…

Freshly baked scone at Skukuza, Leanawel ?
Now thats something that would be great at all the restaurants.
Cheap and easy to make and most of us are without ovens in Kruger so we can't make our own!

I will be at Mopani over Christmas, do they offer a Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas day lunch?? ... What was it like if they do?

Thanks...

Some restaurants have Christmas menus, but you need to book.
I don't know if Mopani does that, but you could phone and ask.

We will be in the area then Kujo, so may see you.

:gflower: :gflower: :gflower: To Shaun at Lower Sabie.

You have done an amazing job at Lower Sabie!!!! :D :D It is clean, tidy and the staff is friendly. The quality of the food has also improved dramatically. We were there this weekend and had a toasted chicken mayonaise - it was super!
