I will do it asap. My phone has a camera and I have got all the things like a usb cable ( 0 and the lot. Will definitely try something this weekend. I have still got a "laatlammetjie" in grade 8, so junior might help me.

My favourite souvenir from Kruger is my Kruger park map/book! It has all the animals and birds in it, and I bought it on my first visit to Kruger and ticked off every animal or bird I have seen on my visits to Kruger and believe it or not - there are still a few that need to be ticked off, like the Pangolin and Trumpeter hornbill. The book has been all taped together it's that old, yet it still comes along on every Kruger trip!

i was about 13 or 14 on a trip to Kruger (at letaba) when i bought a really cool ruler with cartoon-pictures of wild animals (i think it was the big five and some others too on it.) unfortunately i do not have it anymore .... i think the new south africa took it as a souvenir

Over the years I have collected many teaspoons from all over the place, but the nicest 4 in use I have are parfait ones bought at various camp shops in KNP about 10 yrs ago. I haven't seen them again in KNP.

My "coolest souvenirs" from Kruger are the never forgotten memories of the wonderful times spent there as a child an adult with my late parents. I don't need any "object" (although I have many) as a souvenir. Just the memory of my wonderful parents

One year I forgot to bring a pen for note taking and journal writing. No problem, I thought, the shop will have some. Yeah right. All I wanted was a cheap biro. All the shop had was, well nothing. I searched and searched for about half an hour and finally, in the ever-expanding gift section I found the only pen the shop had left. It was a wooden pen with a carved elephant at the top. Reluctantly ("How much? It's not gold plated is it?"). Well its been the best pen I've ever had. It's lovely to write with and just looking at it can transport me back to the stoeps of the bungalows, watching the braai fires while writing up my notes into my journal.

In my Standerd 4 or 5 year (Grade 6 or 7 nowadays) a group of us went to the Kruger. When we came home we had to do a write-up of the tour and I still have it: in bookform and entitled "Die Jakkies gaan Wildtuin toe (The "Jakkies" go to the Game Reserve). Every time I page through it, I relive that wondrous time!

LOL...Buffalo horns taken in the night, now the stories are revealed ey! Nothing like scotch courage.


My collection involves KNP road maps that I bought every year as a young boy from 1979 through to 1990, some green soap with the kudu horns and a Leopard mug that my late Mom brought home for me one year.

Some great souvenir's from everyone, but Rooies take's the cake!

Iv'e also got the famous black mug with the gold Lion pic ( must be the most common souvenir )

But i got a friend of mine quite a cool souvenir ...Elephant Poo! No no, don't get me wrong here, i didn't stop the car and scoop it up! I actually bought it! Yes i paid for it In most of the shops they sell a small capsule with Elephant, Buffalo, Giraffe and other animals droppings inside it.

I also collect all the round SANparks soap, must have hundreds of them....

I'd love to see Sanparks start selling elephant dung paper. (Read an article on it 2 years ago, about it being done in India I think).
