In October, after the winter, it is always great to visit Kruger. The city in which I live has many jacaranda trees and they are covered in purple flowers in October. I think Purple Rain is a great song in this month to remind me of Kruger as a person sees the masses of purple flowers leaving :D and returning :( from Kruger during October.

Not really sure why, but Living next door to Alice pops in my head.......got absolutely nothing to do with nature  , maybe it's because I have to get used to not being in the park each time we leave??? :hmz:

"Nellie the Elephant" by Mandy Miller...........now I'm showing my age!!!!!

On our first visit to Kruger, we had not seen an Ellie, so my friend started singing this song!!!

There must have been a lot fewer Ellies in those days!!!!

TOTO - AFRICA (I get goose bumps all over every time I hear that song. If I haven't been in the bush for some time and I get the blues, I listen to that song. It is my ringtone on my phone, my alarm in the morning...it is not only my KNP song, it is my anti poaching song, my conservation song...it reminds me how much we have to be thankful for...how wonderful to be able to see nature, to hear nature. It reminds me why I am fighting wildlife crime and how we should protect our precious wildlife).

Other songs I inadvertedly link to the bush, to KNP are:
DIE HEUWELS FANTASTIES - KLEIN TAMBOTIEBOOM.
ADAM TAS - GAAN Sê VIR DIE ANGELS.
MAMA AFRICA (MIRIAM MAKEBA) - PATA-PATA & CLICK-SONG
ELTON JOHN - CIRCLE OF LIFE

And my KGALAGADI SONG has to be VER IN DIE OU KALAHARI...

Oh my word, now i really have the blues :)

For me it's John Barrys film music of the movie 'Out of Africa'. I love to listen to this music when I drive the last strech from Nelspruit to Malelane :D

I always loved the song "The Lion sleeps tonight" but the last time we were at Mopani someone in the next cottage to us played it over and over again, about 20 times!
Eventually only stopping after a loud Ssshhhhhh!

When my kids were little we had a cassette (I think by Des and Dawn Lindbergh) and one of the songs went like this......

We're off, we're off to the game reserve
We're off and on our way
Off to the Kruger National Park
For a lovely holiday......

They played it non stop in the car and I can still remember just about all the words 20 years down the line.
