My SO and I often do what we call a "pre-breakfast run", which is exactly what you describe in you "pajama drive". We don't set an alarm though and we don't decide beforehand that we're going to do it.
We're caravanners so we usually hear when the first vehicles start up to move to the gate. That's the moment of decision: will we? or will we not? If it is "all systems go", we hop out of bed, each put on a sweater top, grab a can of soda and off we go. Never for more than an hour, then we're back. Only then will we officially start planning our day.
What if we have a break down, will I walk back in my pyjamas? NO, I will not. I will not even walk back in my Sunday Best! Predators are not particular about the clothes you're wearing.
Somebody will eventually come by and help us out.
Pajama Drive is a better description.

I'd tried to DO IT, but hubby stopped me as I was sneaking out of the door... :lol:

But we did keep a sharp eye on passing motorists... :lol:

we have never driven around early morning in Kruger in our nighties but is sounds tempting as a person sometimes just want to get through the gates never mind the daily necessities of life like getting dressed :lol:

My alarm is the first engine that sputters to life, then I jump into the car, no combing, brushing or any such time-wasting activities.

I just grab the Pronutro, milk from the fridge and raisins and I'm off!

One of my favourites is at Lower Sabie, "race" to Sunset Dam and gulping down Pronutro, with the mist slowly rising from the Dam, then the sun coming out (in winter).

Only then can I start the day.
