Hi Flying Cheetah

That is what I knew it by when we saw it, and identified it from Roberts Birds. Its probably called something else now- but is very similar to the african Hawk Eagle only a lot more streaked on the breast. We had a lot of time to identify it as it was drinking at a waterhole. Thrilling sight.

If you have the new name-will appreciate hearing it. My birding has suffered a lot over the years. but catching up-ever so slowly.

Have a great day!

Noel

Hi Noel,
now I got it. It's Ayres's Hawk-Eagle (Aquila ayresii)
Really a very nice bird, but I never saw one in nature..
Also a good day to you.

And not to mention the dust that give you some work when you get back, and the Shongololo's.

Flying Cheetah- It was a memorable sighting as they are a bit rare. Have not seen the Hawk Eagle yet

Cheers.
