I have seen a few ( about 3 prides of around 8 or 10) around Satara last year, but not more than that.

We got Masorini/Sable pride, then one on the Mankavi(Only saw on male), one at the lookout towards mopani(One Blond Male), one at the T-Junction(2Males), then Mikes Mopani boys(3Males), south another pride centre about(2 Males),Letaba river bridge(2 Males) Letaba round Staff village, then at the bridge toward Phalaborwa(Two males). One more in between, (Only saw one male)

Now that is only on the tarred road as the clock goes from Phala-Gate to Mopani, Letaba & Back.

The Buffalo herd had an impact I believe.

You mean at the lookout point on the righthandside a few clicks north of Ngobeni?
I'm not getting out of the car there again. :naughty: :naughty:

Doesn't seem to be a bad streak in his hairdo. Was quite relaxed lying there under the Lalapalm in the sun.

We saw a nice big herd of a good couple of hundred frequently just above Lower Sabie in June.

Not sure if they are still around now but worth a look anyway.
Enjoy!

In July we saw big herds near Satara.

One herd: on the H7 at Nsemani and at Girivana
Second herd: H1-4 from Satara to Olifants
