We also have never had anything gone missing during all our visits in Kruger that is because of humans but some minor food items due to monkey and badger business. Is great to know that crime is absent from Kruger and that a person can enjoy nature without any worry  .

The first time i was in the Kruger Park, I was 4. Over the last 25yrs and 11 trips later, I have not once had any issues with safety and security of my personal items.

I only camped once, and even then, our tents were not moved, tampered or even our huts / bungalows opened besides the cleaning staff. I have been from Punda Maria to Olifants to Berg-En-Dal and never had an issue.

A lot of people see pre-1994 and post-1994 as difference and reasoning for up in security (in my opinion this is not a valid reason). I suppose (imop), the reasoning behind this is purely for liability and security for the parks itself. Just to show face in the unlikely event (thus T&C's apply and Indemnity is signed on entry).

Sure, a lot of us (lets be honest) have walked off with a bar of soap

The perception that the media has made over the years is little stupid and makes the reputation of places, like the Kruger Park etc look bad and will one day see the Park having to either sell off ground to private firms for commercialisation and thus making the experiences unhappy, and thus making it more difficult to enjoy because of the costs for the companies. Which, will result in the closure of some or all of it and thus lose a heritage for South Africa and most of Africa. I don’t want this.....

I would have to say, the Kruger Park, is the safest place ever for me and it reminds me of the old days when we stayed in Middleburg. Our security gate never worked, our front doors lock didn't work and we never had a front wall. We tented at night in the garden, making as if we were camping in the park

I have never heard or had any bad word from my friends about the Kruger Park and the safety.

Lols, sure, Baboons are the main culprits, but hey, how do you get someone to do a sketch on the one than broke into your unit? :boulay: the baboons.

Enjoy your trip and take tons of :cam:

Just remembered 2 incidents.

P'kop last year..........Dungy had packed the car for our journey to Satara.
We called in at Skuks to go to the shop, and when we opened the boot.............NO LAPTOP!!!
Dungy was not popular!!!
We asked reception to phone through............and the maid had found it, and taken it straight to lost property.
Relief!!! We drove back and picked it up..........making sure we found the maid, and gave her a tip (which she really seemed reluctant to take!!)

Lower Sabie this year...........we had packed up and were just driving away, when Dungy looked in his rear mirror and saw the maid came running out of the unit waving her hands.

We stopped and she came running towards us.............holding both our phone chargers!!!
What a relief, as we were leaving the park that morning for the South Coast!!!
