We didn't ever drink during the day anyway, because we never drink and drive, so we always waited till we were back in camp.

When we get back to camp, Dungie goes to the fridge, pours me a cold dry white wine, gets himself a cold Castle, and then he starts to build his fire and get the meat!!
I start to sort the veg, and then when the preps are done and the fire is going, we sit and finish our drinks, while remembering all our sightings (or not)!! A few refills later, we are ready to eat!!!

Afterwards we have a coffee and Amarula!!

Oh darn, now I'm homesick again!!

Moondowner?? :hmz:

Let me describe my favorite moondowner moment. The following is a true story...

Mrs. Stark and Starkling have settled into our tent in Tamboti for the night. There is a chill in the air and I have all the lights out. Sounds from nearby tents are muffled and I can hear the subtle movement of water somewhere beyond the fence. I can see the bushes around the tent, but not beyond. But oh, the stars! I forgot how many, and how bright, they are! I've spent too long in civilization with my nose to the grindstone, my shoulder to the wheel.

But I'm here. Now. I let it all go and breath in the tranquility of the moment.

My eyes are adjusting to the starlight and I can see the silhouette of the far shore - a black horizon of treetops against the illuminated sky. Water splashes, louder this time. The cause is a mystery...this is no time to shine a light. A shooting star streaks across the sky. And another. And another. Off in the distance a hyena calls. Long. Mournful. Primal.

I feel connected as I toast the darkness, the stars, the sounds of the bush. I'm at peace.

Sorry, but no you can't rufie.

Alcohol can only be consumed at your own accommodation, not in any public areas of the park or camps.
(Unless you are buying it and sitting in the restaurants!!)

Day visitors cannot bring alcolhol in at all.
