No one with an answer... And I think it depends on how much the host animal is moving, the bird needs to keep its balance....

Good morning Guides.  :D

It seems that each species pecks at a certain frequency that is specific to that species. In other words, one type of woodpecker pecks at a number of pecks each second, while another type will do so at a faster or a slower rate because it is of a different species. However, not all species perform this - known as "drumming" - and some species do it only sometimes. Hope this helps?

Hi there :D

What we have to remember is that cobras, like snakes, want to avoid physical confrontation at all costs i.e. they just don't want to get hurt. That's their instinct. So, when a cobra feels threatened it will raise its hood in order to look more frightening (and bigger). In that way, cobras will scare off something that appears threatening - hopefully - and that avoids having to use other defense mechanisms, such as biting. Biting would mean the snake is more likely to be injured in retaliation. In short, cobras raise their hoods to scare off threats without running the risk of getting hurt themselves.

Hope this helps :)
