I think the red hartebees is also one of the fastest but I am not sure whether it is the second fastest. I am making the assumption you are talking about African antelope which would exclude the likes of the prong horn. I think the gnu is also up with the quickies. Open to correction on the above.

OK Your Q i.r.o. the fastest antelope.
My answ ; according to my father, is a Wildebeest calf, yes a calf. They run so fast that they run away for the adults(mothers).
They grew up in eastern Namibia (Gobabis),my father, and their veld school differs from ours. As time pass they learn that it is a matter of protection for the young ones.But the matter stays that the wildebeest calf s are the fastest.

Very interestng... For the time being I only knew that the tsessebe is the fastest antelope in Africe even in one of my children books " When hippo was hairy" It said that the tsessebe was the fastest untill someone told me that there was something faster???

According to the (available) sources is the big thing that the Tsessebe can do its top speed for a relative long period.(7 seconds?)

How to calculate a animal s age just looking at it:
I know only of two species that is possible;
a. One domestic example ; cows, but they must still have their horns.For every calf they have there is a definite ring on their horns.So, the African cattle farmer can just by looking at a Nguni cow calculate the age of such a animal.
b. In the wild;The kudu-bull , persons that know the kudu can by counting the turns in the horn more or less determine the age of the bull.
Are there other examples?

The rings on the Nguni then won't tell you her age but only how many calves she's had. She will only have her first calf at 3 and might not calve every year Just wondering

Sky, you 100% right, the thing with this type of calculations is that you must have experience. I am a bit of the point, but I must share this;
It is one of the most interesting cattle transactions(buyer and seller) if you find a seller that thinks he can sell this "young" cow and the buyer tell him how old the cow really is.I was witness to this a few times and had a good laugh.

what is the only animal that will drown when it swims....

The white rhino.

The white rhino has his head in a fixed position down. so that means he cannot pic up his head, for he only eats grass... When it takes a swim it will be unable to pick up its head high enough to be able to breath. That will be why it is the only animal that will drown when swimming....
