Does the birth of Impala lambs fall together with the arrival of the first rain? :hmz:

Is the rut season dependend on the first rains, or on the onset of autumn, and further, does the moon cycle has an effect on the mating season of impalas?

:hmz: The question I had in mind was: "Why do the time of the birth of impalas differ from year to year, is this determined by the arrival of the first rains?"

Both of you were looking in the correct area. So first of you two to post is it!

Imberbe Thank you. Jeopardy is always tricky, because you sometimes need to mind read. The rutting period of the blue wildebeest also start at the first full moon in Autumn and calf are born yearly during the rainy season.

My answer to my question is:

The only SANParks camps in Kruger are Crocodile Bridge, Olifants and Punda Maria

Ossendryver,

I am waiting for the question. Don't look too deep. :naughty: It's something to do with the name of the camp and not the camp it self. Maybe a giveaway now. :D

Sanparks Restcamps that have been named after animals that frequent the rivers close to these camps are Crocodile Bridge (crocs  ), Olifants (elephants  ) and Punda Maria (zebra).

(Bushveld camps and hides obviously not included).

Elzet,

You are IT.

I think I am correct in saying that none other camps or bushveld camps are named after a land animal (walking/crawling), except Bateleur name after a bird. That one somehow slipped my mind.

Yes and it will exclude hide e.g Sable hide

Elzet,

I hope Michel did not put you off from giving the next answer. Bulls can't be that deep, they always walk with their heads above the ground. Not like a Shark that you will find deep under.
