Yep, just back from Kruger; and never saw a single bird with a tooth.

The fact is that this statement is actually a fact! Proper teeth would upset the centre of gravity and weigh the bird down. Ancient dinosaur-birds did have teeth, but they also did not have proper feathered wings and a an aerodynamically light body like today's avifauna: their wings were more skin like and they tended to glide rather than properly fly. The contention that a heavy bill (like a hornbill's or a parrot's) does not upset the centre of gravity sufficiently to make heavier-billed birds unworthy of flight is an interesting one; however, though they appear heavy, the bills are actually relatively light, whereas solid teeth weigh a mean size more.

I can't remember that good but we had a discussion on the same case, very long time ago in school. The conclusion was very much the same.

Bull sharks in freshwater possess several organs with which to maintain appropriate salt and water balance; these are the rectal gland, kidneys, liver and gills. All elasmobranchs have a rectal gland which functions in the excretion of excess salts accumulated as a consequence of living in seawater. Bull sharks in freshwater environments decrease the salt-excretory activity of the rectal gland, thereby conserving sodium and chloride . The kidneys produce large amounts of dilute urine, but also play an important role in the active reabsorption of solutes into the blood. The gills of bull sharks are likely to be involved in the uptake of sodium and chloride from the surrounding freshwater, whereas urea is produced in the liver as required with changes in environmental salinity. Fact or myth?

Myth?

Myth. The BFC is not found anymore in Botswana; furthermore, it is only found in the arid regions of the other three countries, and only in small parts of Zim and Angola - not all over.
