Which veteran Kruger Park Ranger was an absolute specialist at making hunting knives in the 70's -80's?

Damn, I know this one! Have read it somewhere:

But somehow I don;t think it was this one.

Quote:
My good friend Rian Labuschagne was Section Ranger at Nwanedzi and he is a brilliant knife maker and I commisioned him to make me a hunting knife with a Rooibos handle (Combretum Apiculatum) I went to fetch the knife at his house and he took me to the place where the Nwanedzi River goes through a gorge into Mocambique

Yes, Gwen, don't be afraid...

His son is a ranger in the Park these days, as far as I know.

Correct WTM!

Ted was a veteran Section and Senior Ranger, eventually settling down at Houtboschrant (Timbavati).

His knife-making skills earned him an enviable reputation, and his pieces were regarded as priceless.

His son Stephen is now a ranger at Tshokwane, or so I last heard.

(Seems to be a bit of a generation gap with this question, if only WTM knows the answer...)

Phylum Arthropoda
Class Insecta
Order Hemiptera
Family Fulgoroidea
Genus Helicoptera

But they can fly themselves??? Maybe they are called that after being tranported in the helicopter?

Sorry Restio.

If it lives in thick bush you can just drop it next to the thick bush...

This is a very common animal in the rest of SA, and does appear in Kruger guides...
