I wish to thank all those who took the time to participate in this perhaps not so successful thread.  Image   I had fun, and it made me more attentive to the fact that we have for ages utilised animals and phenomenons to name methods of transport/to create methods of transport.

I watched a very interesting programme on TV a few nights ago - can't remember if it was Carte Blanche or 50/50. In any event, there they mentioned the bigger role that mimicry is playing in our world - especially in an endeavour to create a greener world. This came up in the Quizzes a few months ago, and since then I have perused all references on this. For instance a giraffe's saliva to lubricate machines. A whale's fin to design aeroplane wings. So are we really-eally the intelligent race??? :hmz:

Perhaps time we start a thread on mimicry?  A to Z?  Don't worry Son Boom, just joking.

Thank you all once again.
